We’re almost through the first month of the new year, and if you’ve been dutifully going to the gym to get that 2019 body, please accept our hearty congratulations. But while your body may be getting healthier, your skin may be looking a little…well, lackluster. That’s because sweat and stress can wreak havoc to your face. Here are the top five things you can do to make sure your skin keeps looking as good as the rest of you:

  1. Sleep with a humidifier – This is especially important in drier climates, but if you’re sweating a lot, prepare for drier skin. Humidifiers are super cheap, and they’ll help moisturize the air as you sleep at night. This will help your skin stay moisturized, which will prevent  fine lines and wrinkles from forming.

  2. Use a lip mask – When you work out, you breathe hard, and that forceful repetition of breath dries out your lips. That, combined with lipsticks and chapsticks that dry instead of hydrate, makes for an extremely dry mouth that can be downright painful. Try ours for hydration all over your entire mouth area.
  3. Don’t wear makeup to the gym – Seriously. It’s the surest path to breakouts. I know the temptation to look cute is real, but you aren’t there for anyone else but you, so do yourself a favor and do a full cleanse before going to the gym; it’ll prevent your face from being a sweaty makeupy swamp of bacteria.
  4. Steam it out – If your gym has a steam room, take advantage of it to open your pores and rid your body of toxins. Be sure to take a shower before and after and to drink more water than you're used to; you'll need it after all that steam.
  5. Use hydrating masks – In order to replenish your skin with the vitamins it needs to keep looking gorgeous, you'll need some serious self care. That involves masks that force ingredients deeper into the top layer of your skin before they have a chance to evaporate. Soon Skincare's masks are made of biocellulose that allows for greater penetration and helps your skin look hydrated and more youthful.
