As a Master Esthetician there are many reasons why I can see Korean skincare is leaps and bounds ahead in the skincare industry, and one of them is the sheet mask! In my opinion sheet masks work on the skin more efficiently than traditional face masks.
Each sheet mask is infused with a high potency serum. Serums in general have a small molecular size which allows them to be able to penetrate into the skin faster and deeper than other products, leaving the skin enriched with the best ingredients in the least amount of time. Unlike traditional masks, sheet masks are made from either paper, hydrogel, biocellulose, or cotton, making them an occlusive mask. This means the mask forms a protective barrier enclosing the serums against the skin which prevents evaporation from occurring.
During my career as an esthetician, I have tried so many different kinds of masks, and I think one of the best things about sheet masks is they are so quick and easy to use. You don't need fancy brushes or application products to use your mask, or anything to remove it once you are done. Due to their single use design, all you have to do is open the package, place it on your skin, let it work it’s magic and then remove it and throw it away!
Another thing I love about sheet masks is you can use them to treat specific skincare concerns. For example if your skin is having problems with dryness and elasticity a sheet mask infused with either aloe, hyaluronic acid, or pomegranate would all be great options. The extra essence from the mask can also be used on other parts of your body like your neck and hands.
***Editor's Notes-- Our sheet masks are named after the skincare concerns they are created to treat. In a few short weeks we will have the following sheet masks for sale: Biocellulose Brightening Mask, Biocellulose Anti-Aging Mask, Biocellulose Firming Mask, Micro-Hole Hydrogel Hydrating Mask, and Micro-Hole Hydrogel Collagen Mask.
