If you cry watching dog food commercials, get angry when your friends are angry, and can't recover for days after being reprimanded at work, chances are you're sensitive. But if you break out frequently, have inflamed skin, and/or get hives easily, you have sensitive skin.
If you have sensitive skin, you likely already know it because you have to be really careful about the skincare products you use; the wrong product can easily cause your skin to have an allergic reaction. Depending on how strong your sensitive skin is, you may not even be able to handle normal makeup. Here's our advice for babying your sensitive skin:
1. Ditch the fragrance–Fragrances don't belong in your skincare products. Period. Eliminating fragrances is a good start to handling sensitive skin.
2. Go soap-free–Use the gentlest cleanser you can find. The fewer ingredients, the better, and don't even think about using bar soap.
3. Mask–Face masks can help soothe current irritations as well as restoring your skin's natural barrier. All Soon Skincare products are developed for use with sensitive skin, but we especially recommend our Micro-Hole Hydrogel Hydrating Face Mask to deeply soothe sensitive skin
4. Serum–Apply a simple serum to your skin before your moisturizer. Select a serum that features pure ingredients because serums are potent products that penetrate the skin's surface.
5. Moisturize–A moisturizer will also help soothe your sensitive skin and help protect it from breakouts. Choose one that isn't too thick, has no fragrance, and has no sulfates.
Sensitive skin can be a challenge, but by following a regimen of regular care, inflammation and breakouts can be managed and the natural vibrancy of your skin can be revealed.
